Historic Well at St. Anne's Shrine Restored to Safe Drinking Water with HSC Technology
The Shrine of St. Anne, located near the village of Bistrinci, close to Belišće [45.70365° N, 18.37412° E], is one of the most important and frequented spiritual destinations in Slavonia. Established in the late 18th century, the site has long been a place of prayer, especially during the feast of St. Anne, the patron saint of mothers, families, and expectant women. Known for its spiritual significance and associated miracles, the shrine has drawn pilgrims seeking healing and blessings.
In 2023, a sudden and unexpected issue arose when the water from the shrine's historic well became undrinkable. Laboratory tests revealed dangerous bacterial contamination, leading to the well's closure for public health safety. The sudden pollution caused concern, as the well held deep spiritual significance for visitors.
To resolve the issue, a team employed HSC technology, specifically the HSC correlator, or "scalar needle." The device was lowered into the well using a thin metal wire, but the fast-flowing underground water towards the Karašica River made the process more challenging. After a month of treatment, the scalar needle effectively purified the water, restoring it to a safe and drinkable state.
“We are proud to have played a role in preserving this sacred site,” said a spokesperson from the team. Thanks to HSC technology, the well is now back in service, symbolizing both physical and spiritual renewal for the thousands of visitors who frequent the shrine.
The successful restoration of the well is a momentous event for the shrine, which celebrated its 200th anniversary in 1997. The shrine continues to serve as a place of prayer, peace, and healing, offering visitors spiritual solace and a connection to tradition.
With the well restored, St. Anne’s Shrine remains a symbol of faith and hope for pilgrims from across Slavonia and beyond.
